Life and Death
I once heard someone say, "We can only hope for the best." Apparently, we can live a just and good life, one that can make a difference and a lasting impact, but I guess we can only hope. We can only hope that our writing will be good enough to last forever in a novel, our art beautiful enough to transcend the centuries, or our lives significant enough to retell as stories in the future. With that I am left sitting, hoping, and waiting, that somehow my life will be remembered. Encouraging? I think not. I don't have to hope: I can know that the best is yet to come. Furthermore, I can know that what I should be hoping for is not a glorified life now but one that comes in the next one. So consider what is more worthy of your hope: a life talked about after you die (which you wouldn't even know is happening) or a redeemed, transformed and valued life after you die? Just consider it.
