Seeing Clearly

Beauty is a funny thing; it is almost never what it appears to be at first sight. We can scrub and pluck and rouge and cover but no matter how much is done its never enough. Not enough to conceal a decaying heart or an ailing soul because beauty ceases to be beauty when these things are revealed. So when people say “It’s on the inside that counts” however cliché it may sound, the truth within it clearly resounds. Outward beauty means nothing, my dear, when the beauty of one’s heart is not so clear.
